May 26

2:09 am When her phone battery died, a frustrated 23-year-old Columbus woman allegedly began beating it against the counter at Classics Sports Bar. The banging bothered a 57-year-old Groveport woman sitting a few stools away, who allegedly told the younger woman to “be patient and have some respect”.

At this point, the younger woman’s friend (also 23 years old from Columbus) allegedly began recording the interaction by placing her phone in the Groveport woman’s personal space. A witness told police that the two Columbus women taunted the Groveport woman as she tried to push away the phone. A bartender tried to remove the Columbus women from the business, but they just laughed at him.

When police arrived, they allegedly found the Groveport woman in the parking lot trying to start her car despite her apparent drunkenness. When, she insisted that she could drive and did not need to call for a ride, the officers arrested her for public intoxication.

The Columbus women wanted charges filed against the Groveport woman for shoving the cell phone and causing damage.

5:56 am Police were called to the George’s Creek neighborhood on a report that an unknown individual wearing a hoodie broke the window of a Dodge Challenger and pulled wires from under the dash. The 25-year-old man who owned the car told officers that a “kill switch” had been installed to prevent the vehicle from being stolen. He then told police that his neighbors also owned a Dodge Challenger that was usually parked in their driveway at this hour.

The police discovered broken glass in the neighbor’s driveway. The neighbor had not known that his vehicle was missing until the officers knocked on his door.

8:12 pm An unknown person allegedly broke the window of a Toyota Tundra parked at Cracker Barrel and stole $800 worth of athletic equipment, $400 prescription glasses, and Nintendo games valued at $700.

7:01 pm A large snapping turtle suffering from injury caused traffic to back up on Lockville Road. Officers removed the turtle from the pavement, but the trauma was too severe, and the turtle had to be put down.

8:03 pm An officer allegedly clocked a Toyota Corolla traveling 61 mph in the 35-mph zone of Columbus Street. The vehicle had fictitious plated and the driver, an 18-year-old Columbus man, had a suspended license.

May 28

5:44 am A 30-year-old Pittsburgh woman allegedly lost control of her Honda Civic on Diley Road in front of Fox Glen East and crashed into a Speed Limit sign. She fled the scene.

5:28 pm A 24-year-old Lancaster woman said that her Air Pods went missing after she visited Ohio Health Pickerington and that the tracker pinged to the George’s Creek neighborhood.

6:49 pm A 33-year-old Columbus woman was pulled over on Hill Road near Scrambler Marie’s for driving a Pontiac GRM that had been reported stolen. She was wanted on a felony warrant, and she possessed narcotics.

May 29

1:23 am A 34-year-old Pickerington man reported that while he and his friends were watching a movie at Marcus Cinema someone allegedly stole the battery from his Honda Civic.

3:18 pm Police pulled over a Lexus RX near Church and Center Streets for having expired tags registered to a deceased individual. The driver, a 25-year-old Pickerington woman, opened her window and handed the officer new plates as he approached. She claimed that the old plates were screwed on too tightly to remove. The car belonged to her grandfather before he died. She had been pulled over for the same offense on May 17.

1:23 pm Four teenage girls (ages 15 and 16) allegedly jumped another 15-year-old girl at Victory Park.

1:27 pm An officer clocked a Jeep Compass traveling 51 mph on Hill Road past Opportunity Way. The officer lost sight of the vehicle in the dip between Pickerington High School Central and Ridgeview Junior High. Consequently, he turned onto Stonebridge, assuming the Jeep had entered the neighborhood. Witnesses helped the officer track the vehicle to where it had stopped on Violet Drive.

The officer asked the driver, a 21-year-old Columbus man, why he was speeding and evading the traffic stop. The man allegedly explained that the Jeep’s dashboard no longer received electricity therefore he had no speed gauge. He had been driving on a suspended license.

6:15 pm A 23-year-old Columbus man allegedly told police that he was angry with the price McDonald’s charged for his order, which is why he opened the drive thru window and tossed drinks at the employees.

May 31

3:14 am An officer pulled over a Buick Encore because the license plate was not clearly displayed. The plate was allegedly registered to a different vehicle, and the driver, a 25-year-old Columbus man, did not have a valid driver’s license.

4:26 pm A 35-year-old Columbus woman allegedly took a suitcase from a display at Kohl’s and filled it with merchandise valued at $768.98, including clothing and perfume, then left the store without paying. An hour later, she allegedly returned to the store, attempting to refill the suitcase.

June 1

3:30 pm A 33-year-old Columbus woman allegedly used the self-checkout at Aldi’s but only paid for a fraction of the items she had in her cart. The total amount of the unpaid items was $350.

June 2

7:36 am Someone allegedly broke through the backdoor at Firehouse Subs and took money from the register and the entire safe. The police believe the suspect fled the scene in a black Honda CRV with a stolen license plate.

June 3

1:39 am The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from Pickerington Police in the pursuit of a white Nissan Altima. Deputies had followed the vehicle north on Diley Road, through Mingo Estates, and then south onto Hill Road, where they lost sight of the car near Columbus Street. The vehicle was estimated to be traveling at 100 mph.

A few moments later, a resident reported hearing a crash near the Simsbury Disc Golf Course. Officers found tire tracks leading to a damaged fire hydrant, but the Nissan was missing. It was discovered on Blue Jacket Circle, but the driver had fled.

Law enforcement searched the area with a drone and a K9 but did not locate the driver.

1:12 pm The Loss Prevention Officer from Kohl’s reported that a 38-year-old Columbus woman allegedly stole $1,005 worth of Sephora and kids clothing.

6:43 pm A Violet Township resident turned into the police a Kentucky license plate that she found in the grass near Blacklick Eastern and Milnor Roads.

9:31 pm Someone allegedly broke into a Kia Rio parked at Pizza Hut and damaged its fuse box.

9:54 pm An officer pulled over a Dodge Ram on Town Square Drive for allegedly exceeding the speed limit, traveling at 39 mph in a 25-mph zone on Hill Road. The driver, a 43-year-old man from Thurston, lacked both a driver’s license and insurance.

10:40 pm A 43-year-old Pickerington woman allegedly passed out in her GMC Acadia parked outside Circle K. Narcotics were allegedly involved.

June 4

3:26 pm A 26-year-old man from Violet Township, who had forgotten his identification, allegedly argued with a Shell clerk who had asked for it. He allegedly threatened to “come back and take care of you”.

While the man denied making any threats, he did express frustration to the police, noting that his girlfriend frequents Shell and is never carded.”

8:54 pm A 68-year-old Violet Township man was charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly drove his Toyota Camry into the Popeye’s sign. His license had been suspended.

June 6

1:33 pm A 70-old-man and his 71-year-old wife from the Windmiller Ponds neighborhood told police that they believed that their movers allegedly stole their jewelry.

3:20 pm Two Columbus women (ages 41 and 35) allegedly stole perfume bottles from Kohl’s. The younger woman allegedly possessed a pry bar and a magnetic tool used for removing security devices from clothing, but Kohl’s Loss Prevention Officers said that neither tool had been used.

7:06 pm An altercation allegedly occurred between an 18-year-old woman from Groveport and a 17-year-old girl from Pickerington in the latter’s front yard. The Pickerington girl’s mother reportedly told police that her daughter had defended herself adequately, negating the need for charges. However, later that evening, the mother reported that the other teen’s mother texted her to arrange a second fight between their daughters.

7:27 pm An officer pulled over a Hyundai Elantra on Columbus Street near Circle K for an expired tag. The driver, a 26-year-old Cincinnati man, had a suspended license.

12:40 pm A resident of Cherry Hill asked police to tow what they referred to as the ‘junk’ Dodge Dakota that had been parked for months on Buckingham Court.

2:25 pm Police were called to Aldi to issue a “No Trespass” order to a 51-year-old Pickerington man who allegedly had shoplifted from the store in the past. Aldi and the man agreed that the store would not press charges if the man returned the chair he stole on his previous visit.

7:30 pm A Pickerington man reported that someone had allegedly broken into his unit at Public Storage.

9:16 pm A 31-year-old woman from Canal Winchester was arrested on a felony warrant near Red Robin. She was found in possession of cocaine.

June 8

1:03 am Police pulled over a Toyota Prius on Hill Road near Longhorn after it allegedly changed lanes without signaling. The driver, a 42-year-old Columbus man, had no driver’s license and was wanted on a warrant out of New Albany.

3:05 Two women were allegedly caught robbing Kohl’s. The first, a 29-year-old from Ridgewood, NY, is accused of leaving the store with cosmetics valued at $1,873 that she had placed in a bag.

The second suspect, who identified herself as ‘Donna from Romania,’ allegedly took cosmetics worth $686. When unable to verify her identity, police warned her about the consequences of providing a false name. She initially affirmed her name as ‘Donna’ but later questioned whether revealing her true identity would affect the charges.

4:38 pm A 16-year-old from Pickerington reported receiving harassing calls and texts, including a message stating, ‘I hope you die.’ Police traced the communications to an internet-based platform that generates calls from random numbers.

5:21 pm A Buick Lucerne allegedly backed into a Dodge Avenger at Sheetz and then left the scene. Police located the driver, a 45-year-old man from Reynoldsburg, at a residence on Busey Road. He reportedly retreated into his garage, refusing to cooperate.

8:07 pm A green Dodge Charger allegedly collided with a Jeep Cherokee at the Tussing/Hill Road intersection and then fled the scene. The Jeep was driven by a 60-year-old woman from Pickerington.

June 10

1:38 am Police pulled over a Mercedez-Benz near the Pickerington Community Pool for driving at night without headlights. The license plate on the vehicle belonged to a Nissan Sentra and the 28-year-old woman driving the car had a suspended license.

8:11 pm An 18-year-old man from Pickerington allegedly drove a Toyota Camry into the Diley Middle School lot. This action reportedly allowed his 18-year-old female passenger to point a gun at the school.

June 11

11:31 am An employee of Twins Tavern found a 9 mm pistol while cleaning.

11:51 pm Witnesses reported that a possibly impaired driver on Diley Road. Police stopped the Chrysler Pacifica near Windmiller Drive after it was seen weaving between lanes and driving below the speed limit. The 45-year-old driver from Canal Winchester allegedly confessed to overindulging in wine and using marijuana, contrary to her medication’s warnings.

12:59 pm A Toyota Rav 4 was pulled over after radar allegedly clocked it driving 41 mph on Long Road near Pickerington Elementary where the speed limit is 25 mph. The 54-year-old driver allegedly told officers that her registration had expired, and her license was suspended because she could not afford car insurance.

3:38 pm Undisclosed items were stolen from a unit at Public Storage.

3:45 pm An 18-year-old woman from Columbus reported a brief loss of consciousness while driving on Hill Road, leading to a near-collision with a utility pole and subsequent damage to a fence and ditch near the Sycamore Creek neighborhood.

4:22 pm A dispute arose over property possession at a Colony Park home. A 38-year-old man claimed he was entitled to take over the home and its contents, while the 45-year-old previous owner asserted she had additional time to remove her belongings, as per her realtor’s advice.

The man’s sister called the police to intervene after one of the women’s male friends allegedly threatened to “f__k them up”. Officers noted the sister allegedly had marks on her neck where she claimed that the other woman’s friend had assaulted her.

The friend denied the allegations. He claimed that any contact with the sister’s neck was incidental, occurring as he defended himself from her chest bumps.

The police allowed the former owner to remove tools and a television set, then asked her to leave the property.

10:23 pm A 33-year-old Lancaster man allegedly became involved in a dispute with two teenagers from Reynoldsburg while at Marcus Cinema. The teenagers reported to the police that the man had made threats to shoot them, which the man’s family denied.

June 12

6:19 pm An 18-year-old Pickerington man allegedly entered a home in the Knights Bridge neighborhood and threatened a 15-year-old boy. Although the teens had never met, they were both part of the same group chat.

The boy allegedly posted photos to the chat that he claimed to be the man’s mugshots (they were not). The man sent a private message to the boy threatening violence if the images were not removed. The exchange ended with the man messaging a photo of the boy’s house, to which the younger teen responded, “I’m taking a shower, give me 20.”

Not long after the boy finished his shower, two of his friends entered the home. The man allegedly let himself into the home and followed the friends to the boy’s bedroom. The older teen began punching the boy. At that moment, the boy later told the police, he realized that the man was serious about harming him and not just “trolling”.

The friends broke up the fight and the man allegedly said, “Don’t send s__t like that or I’ll kick your ass again!”

The boy told police, that the man pulled a gun from a bag and pointed it at his face and said, “I’m going to f_____g kill you!”

He allegedly returned the gun to the bag, and they all went to the front yard to resume fighting. At this point, the boy’s father called the police.

June 13

11:23 am An 85-year-old man from Pickerington reported to officers that he received an email claiming Norton Anti-Virus would charge him $399.99. Upon calling the provided number, a man identifying himself as “Kevin Williams from New York” directed him to deposit $28,000 into Bitcoin accounts. Subsequently, “Kevin” gained access to the man’s computer, compromising his social security and bank account information.

June 14

9:25 am The magazine of a pistol was found in the glove compartment of a vehicle returned to Enterprise Rental Car.

11:46 am BP reported that a woman allegedly grabbed $101.97 worth of bagged items and left the store without paying.

2:24 pm A 33-year-old Grove City man allegedly slashed the tires of a Ford Explorer in the Mondebrake Drive neighborhood off Long Road.

2:56 pm A Toyota Corolla was stopped near Moo Moo Carwash for expired plates. The driver, a 24-year-old from Columbus, had a suspended license.

8:24 pm Police stopped a Kia Sorento on Hill Road near Stonecreek Drive due to an expired sticker. The driver, a 46-year-old Columbus man, had a suspended license.

June 15

12:29 am An officer pulled over a GMC Envoy on Hill Road near Cross Creeks Boulevard for an expired tag. The driver, an 18-year-old from Columbus, had an expired license.

11:31 pm Three Columbus women (age 20, 24 and 25) and a 17-year-old girl allegedly broke into the Pickerington Community Pool for a swim.
