Andrea Shelton has been a Certified Nurse Midwife at Alivio Medical Center since 2022. One of her primary goals as a midwife and health care provider is to empower individuals through their health and health care experiences, especially relating to sexual and reproductive well-being. One of the most-fulfilling aspects of her role is the opportunity to support individuals through life-defining experiences and transitions. She is passionate about issues relating to reproductive justice and health equity. She also has strong interest and experience in public, maternal and child, and global health.

I believe in giving back to my community and working at Alivio allows me to serve the community that I feel very much a part of. I am passionate about caring for the pediatric population and their families. As a mother of three, I understand the importance collaborating with parents in their child’s healthcare journey. I have a special interest in newborn care, lactation, and breastfeeding medicine, obesity prevention, and adolescent medicine.

I am passionate about improving national social programs, including education, healthcare, food security and housing as a human right. I became a counselor to help my client develop resiliency and improve their relationships with themselves and others.

I am passionate about providing high-quality healthcare to underserved communities, promoting equal access to healthcare for everyone, and taking care of every patient with compassion and love.

I have the capacity, motivation, and enthusiasm not only to improve a patient’s health, but more importantly to improve their quality of life. Dr. Melgoza practices from the perspective that every individual possesses strength, has the resilience, and ability to overcome distress when provided with the needed support. She further believes that when provided with the coping skills, a safe space, and guidance, they can become their best selves.

Growing up I got to see my grandmother help pregnant women deliver their babies at her home. I love taking care of patients old and young as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Fatima strives to provide exceptional and comforting care to her patients. She is especially passionate about treating children and providing up-to-date pediatric dental care.

I have a passion in caring for others. It is important for me to provide quality and compassionate care to all patients.

Grace is a Certified Nurse Midwife who provides holistic care to women across the lifespan. She is passionate about caring for underserved populations and increasing accessibility to healthcare.

Nurse-midwifery offers a safe, warm, and holistic model of care for women, transgender individuals, and families as they navigate pregnancy and childbirth, as well as health maintenance and health challenges. As a midwife, I have the honor of being present for the highs and lows in my clients’ lives: I receive new life into my hands, empower my clients to advocate for their own wellbeing, and walk with clients through loss and hardship. Midwifery care embraces and makes space for the beautiful rawness of humanity. That which is “the everyday” for midwives comprises, for our patients, the hallmark moments in their lives. Midwives are witness to it all and are able to see the beauty in these moments and reflect that back to their clients. I am honored to be trusted by my patients during these significant life moments and continually inspired by the strength, wisdom, and kindness of my patients.

I seek to provide culturally competent care and support for my patients. My interests include management of diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, and complex medical conditions. I care for adults age 18+, but I am especially passionate about care for the elderly.

I have been practicing as an Internist for 20+yrs and take care of patients 18 years and older for their acute and chronic medical conditions and also preventive medicine. I believe in patient-centered care by getting to know my patients well, listening to them, educating them and helping them make decisions for their best medical care.

I believe that culturally competent services for the Latinx community is crucial to be able to process and heal from any trauma. As a Black, Indigenous, Person of Color therapist, understanding the culture is as important as speaking the Spanish language.

I believe in promoting healthy emotional and physical development in children. I also believe in providing quality pediatric healthcare for infants, children and adolescents with an emphasis in preventative measures like vaccines, education of parents and children, teaching the value of good nutrition and exercise to build a strong foundation for his or her future.

Adolescent Medicine is a specialty focused on adolescents and their unique health concerns. I strive to support teenagers and their families seek answers, navigate challenges, and ultimately thrive. In addition to caring for teenagers’ primary care needs, I offer specialized care for adolescent-related medical conditions that is easily accessible in their community.
